Full job description

Anson County Landfill in Polkton, NC has an immediate opening for a safety-minded Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in maintaining equipment and helping keep our drivers and communities safe.

What You'll Do

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment.

  • Repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.

  • Utilize vehicle diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.

  • Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).

  • Complete maintenance documentation using fleet software.

  • Test drive equipment after repairs.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required performing diesel equipment diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Basic mechanic tool set.

  • Class B CDL, preferred but not required

  • Hydraulic experience is a plus.
