Job Title: OR Circulator (RN)
FULL TIME 1ST SHIFT
Job Description:
An RN circulator, or circulating nurse, plays a vital role in the operating room (OR) and is responsible for managing the overall nursing care within the OR to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
The registered nurse (RN) provides and coordinates holistic care of the patient through honoring patients' mind, body and spirit while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual. Professional nursing practices are rooted in evidence while being guided by organizational policies/procedures, regulatory standards and professional guidelines. Nursing excellence is the foundation of the nurse-patient relationship and is exemplified by positive patient outcomes, ongoing professional growth and development, and collaborative relationships with other disciplines.
Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
Development of patient care plan(s).
Thorough knowledge of nursing process in administering patient care to the perioperative patient.
Implements and utilizes evidence-based patient care therapies and procedures per provider order in accordance with the nursing process, established policies, procedures, professional guidelines, patient culture and age of patients served.
Educates and collaborates with patients and family regarding plan of care, procedures and treatments.
Delegates tasks appropriately and provides oversite to team members in the performance of patient care activities.
Requirements:
Two years of varied perioperative services experience preferred
Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree preferred
Completion and maintenance of BLS.
