Full job description

Summary:

Meta is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our suite of products operates to meet the demands of our customers. The EHS Lead will work with the global EHS team and local data center site management to develop and proven experience acting as a thought leader in the area of EHS program to keep all data center employees and all Meta partners safe while working at our facilities and ensure compliance with our EHS standards.

Required Skills:

Environmental, Health & Safety Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver and track all necessary health and safety training for onsite employees and contingent workers and maintain accurate training records

  2. Identify and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and company health, safety and environmental policies, including tracking all necessary records and documentation

  3. Provide functional direction to contracted services

  4. Establish and grow positive cross-functional relationships with all site teams to gain alignment on strategic priorities

  5. Partner with vendors to uphold EHS requirements on site

  6. Assist in the development and implementation of organization wide EHS standards and guidelines

  7. Develop site-based plans for the implementation and on-going management of global EHS standards

  8. Build and maintain a site safety posture that engages and involves site leadership and site team members to be active participants

  9. Manage activities to support day-to-day EHS operations and partner with relevant EHS professionals involved in construction activities to ensure alignment and segregation of responsibilities, as appropriate

  10. Actively support in incident investigations, root cause analyses and injury case management

  11. Maintain operational safety programs for the team (electrical glove exchange, fall protection inspections etc.)

  12. Review site work procedures to assign risk levels and review risk mitigation plans

  13. Participate in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and make health, safety and environmental recommendations accordingly

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years’ experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  2. BS degree in safety or health sciences, or related discipline and 3+ years’ experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field in lieu of 7+ years’ experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  3. Experience in program development, management, and execution

  4. Experience in leading or managing incident investigation and mitigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years’ experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  2. Experience working in a mission critical environment

  3. Experience with NFPA 70E, management of federal regulations and/or environmental permitting processes

  4. EHS certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) or equivalent international agency

  5. Experience or understanding of procedure-based work

  6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$118,000/year to $170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
