Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America, is excited to announce an opening for a General Laborer 2 nd Shift Position!

External Candidate -$1,500.00 sign-on bonus

2 nd Shift: Mondays thru Fridays 3:00PM to 11:30PM

Rate: $18.75 + $1.50 Shift Diff. (2 nd and 3 rd Shifts)

GENERAL PURPOSE

Perform a variety of general duties of a basic, repetitive, and/or manual nature that are relevant to the work area(s) being supported.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist operators as necessary.

  • Load and/or unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, crates, and pallets.

  • Move, stack, or place items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means.

  • Deliver production or area specific items to designated work areas for processing.

  • Pack products in crates or boxes by hand.

  • Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units.

  • Mark or put identifying labels on product loads.

  • Construct or de-construct shipping boxes.

  • Maintain general housekeeping of the assigned area.

  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.

  • Report quality and operational issues or irregularities to supervisor as they occur.

  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding.

  • health and safety issues

  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate.

  • regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.

  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Able to follow directions and carry out instructions.

  • Able to effectively work in a team environment.

  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
