Job Description (General Summary)
Intralox has a position available for SERVICE+ Technician in Minnesota/ Wisconsin with the center of the territory being the Rochester, Minnesota area. This position requires a strong mechanical background to provide technical service and support for low-tension polymer belting technology in conveyor applications. Effective planning and communication skills are also needed to manage a territory of approximately 5- to 6-hour (400-mile) radius. The SERVICE+ Technician must be available for some further travel throughout North America as needed, including Canada, but this is anticipated to be minimal.
The ideal candidate is a mechanic that has strong technical and problem-solving skills coupled with an outgoing personality. They enjoy building relationships with maintenance managers at customer plants and collaborating on strategy with commercial account managers. This person has excellent verbal and written communication skills and quickly generates detailed customer-facing reports.
As a technical resource, your role is to support proactive connections with customers to strengthen our partnerships by highlighting the value our transformative technology brings as well as providing reactive support when needed. The SERVICE+ Technician will also work closely with account managers to ensure alignment and foster a team atmosphere. You will develop deep professional relationships with dedicated production plants by consistently providing world-class service and results. You will proactively schedule service visits to maximize overall effectiveness. You will identify opportunities, train customers onsite, and respond timely to customer issues.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:

Support and promote low-tension polymer conveyor belt applications
-
Effectively communicate and build relationships with account managers and customers
-
Support, coordinate and perform belt installations in customer facilities
-
Troubleshoot and correct problem installations or applications in the field
-
Find solutions on-the-fly; determine and communicate opportunities
-
Provide technical assistance and training to salespeople and customers remotely by phone, reports, webcasts, and especially in person at customer facilities

Inspect conveyors to gather detailed technical information on opportunities for improvement

Communicate belt and conveyor recommendations verbally and in written reports

Arrange and execute efficient travel on short notice, including nights and weekends

Occasionally perform belt performance program calculations

Maintain the professional appearance and safe operation of the service van and equipment

Service emphasis upon Food customers in a particular geographic region in North America

Periodic air travel required, reasonable access to regional airport

Relentless self-evaluation, continuous improvement, and striving for improved customer touches
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus
-
At least two years manufacturing, mechanical or agricultural experience
-
Strong mechanical background, ideally with experience in processing or conveying equipment
-
Ability to set priorities, utilize and coordinate resources, and manage visits from start to finish with little supervision

Customer service oriented personality and approach

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
-
Computer proficiency, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft products

Preferred OSHA safety training certification
-
Able to independently drive a service van to appointments, lodgings, etc.

Desire to travel regionally to North American customer locations.

No restriction to travel to Canada
-
Approximately 70% travel or 168 days away per year. The target cadence is to travel to an area to work at a cluster of different facilities over a few days, then return home. Most travel should be within 5 hours driving distance of your home location. In some instances, the service locations will be close enough (within 1 hour) that you can return home the same day.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds

Reside inside the geographic territory borders. Rochester, MN is optimal as the center, but other locations inside the territory will be considered such as Minneapolis MN, St Paul MN, Madison WI.
