Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,700 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,800 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job:
The CRNA is directly responsible for the administration of anesthesia to surgical patients while doing pre-operative evaluations and selecting appropriate anesthetics. Assures proper administration of anesthetic while monitoring patient during the course of surgery, as well as follows the patient postoperatively. The CRNA will collaborate effectively with surgeons, medical staff, surgery staff and administration.
The Shift: 1.0 FTE 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, no call, weekends or holidays.

Position Qualifications:

Education:
-
Be a graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold a current state licensure as a registered nurse.

Be a graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.

Have successfully completed the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor.

Additional Requirements:
-
Must show proof of current licensure as a Registered Nurse, and Advanced Practice Nurse, active practice as a CRNA, appropriate continuing education to maintain licensure.

Must comply with the state requirements regulating the advanced practice of nursing.

DEA Registration and Iowa Controlled Substances Certificate.

Active Member of AANA preferred.

Experience:
-
Minimum five (5) years experience in a rural hospital setting preferred.

Special Skills and Aptitude:

ACLS, BLS, PALS
-
Demonstrates leadership qualities and posses good interpersonal and communication skills.

Must have basic computer skills.
