Job Description:

  • Full-time days (645-8:45pm), 3 shifts/week •

  • Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provider.

  • Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect, collaborating with team members to achieve daily patient and family goals.

  • Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the provider, nurses, and/or anesthesia provider.

  • Responds to patient’s call lights promptly and notifies appropriate personnel of patient’s needs.

  • Gives accurate report to oncoming shift, may perform documentation including vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, and other patient care performed.

  • Greets, directs, informs, and schedules patients via phone or in person; ensures completion and communication of all patient intake information.

  • Ensures that work environment, equipment/supplies are clean, functioning properly, and orderly throughout the workday.

  • Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and stocking supplies and equipment.

  • Assists with quality improvement, safety, and regulatory functions as directed, participating in process changes to improve practice.

  • Assists in training other OB Techs, volunteers, students, and other hospital personnel.

  • Adapts to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in technology and equipment used in the patient care setting.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic skills and related to aseptic/ sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation [Required]
