Position Summary

Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable, safety-focused Vehicle Loaders to join our McCalla team. In this active outdoor position, you will drive new vehicles, load and unload them from railcars, and help prepare vehicles for transportation.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, and working as part of a team. No two days are exactly the same, and opportunities are available for employees interested in building a long-term career with the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare railcars for vehicles to be safely loaded and unloaded.

  • Drive new vehicles onto and off railcars using established procedures.

  • Secure vehicles inside railcars as required.

  • Release vehicle securement devices during the unloading process.

  • Move vehicles between production areas, designated parking locations, and transportation staging areas.

  • Inspect vehicles and work areas for visible damage or safety concerns.

  • Follow assigned routes, loading patterns, and operational instructions.

  • Comply with all company, customer, railroad, and site safety requirements.

  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires employees to:

  • Climb ladders and work at heights of up to approximately 16 feet.

  • Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, walk, and stand.

  • Work in and around railcars and secured vehicles.

  • Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the shift.

  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.

  • Safely perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
