Full job description

$35-$40 per hour

Contract

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:

  • The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.

  • Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.

  • Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.

  • Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance. Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.

  • Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.

  • Estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Introductory engineering knowledge, basic problem-solving skills, limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure.

  • Review with supervisor, basic discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design.

  • Understanding industry and Company design standards, supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.

Education:

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree.
