As the Public Affairs & Strategic Development Manager, you will lead market expansion by securing access to critical infrastructure, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving operational success in a highly regulated environment. You will develop strategic partnerships with public and private entities, navigate complex government processes, and ensure compliance while establishing access to high-value transportation hubs across the country. About the Role
- Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations by leveraging government relationships and private-sector negotiation skills
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies to support business growth
- Lead region strategy and align commercial objectives with government policies by identifying opportunities and mitigating regulatory risks
- Represent the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media and prepare materials for hearings and public consultations
- Lead site acquisition, ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions
- Develop partnerships with businesses, transit agencies, and property owners to enhance station access and amenities
- Serve as the primary contact for station-related and government relations matters, advocating for the company in infrastructure planning forums
- Up to 30% business travel as needed
- Manage up to two direct reports, depending on organizational needs, with responsibilities evolving over time
- Lead strategy and execution of state and federal affairs
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities
- Demonstrated success in owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth
- 2+ years of project management experience with strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems
- 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with in-direct reporting lines
- Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and analyzing policies to identify risks and opportunities
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior officials and business leaders
- Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development
- Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus but not required
- Up to 30% travel as business needs arise
