What you’ll do

  • Conduct safety audits and observe field activities

  • Coach teams on proper safety techniques and procedures

  • Lead toolbox talks and site-specific training

  • Support root cause investigations of incidents

  • Ensure crews are in compliance with PPE and job-specific hazards

  • Document observations and report non-compliance

  • Monitor usage of equipment and safety tools

  • Coordinate with supervisors to improve safety performance

  • Provide input on policy updates based on observations

  • Travel between sites to maintain regional safety presence

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in field safety or utility safety oversight

  • Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations

  • Valid driver’s license; must travel to various job sites

Additional qualifications (if applicable)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at individual level and in group

  • Ability to maintain records in well-organized manner

  • Must maintain a satisfactory driving record while in the position, as consistent safe driving behavior is essential when training or setting an example for others

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Climb stairs, complete and maintain training, use keyboard/mouse, lift 10–25 pounds, stand, walk, work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles

  • Occasionally: Lift 26–55 pounds, bend/stoop, perform repetitive hand movements, use portable ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery
