Driver - Hultquist Place

Regular Part-Time | Jamestown, NY

Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Reports to: Administrative Assistant

Lutheran's Hultquist Place, a warm and welcoming assisted living facility, is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and safety-minded Driver / Hospitality Aide to provide transportation and resident support services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by helping them maintain independence, access essential appointments, and enjoy a comfortable living environment.

This position is scheduled for three 8-hour shifts each week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, for a total of 22.5 hours per week. Time not spent providing transportation services will be dedicated to Hospitality Aide responsibilities that support resident comfort and quality of life.

Job Duties

Transportation Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments using a facility vehicle, including a bus or compact SUV

  • Ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs while prioritizing resident comfort and safety

  • Complete errands on a timely basis, as assigned

  • Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, including proper use of wheelchair lifts and wheelchair lockdown systems

  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, Nursing, Administration, staff, and families

  • Maintain positive community and facility relations at all times

  • Report vehicle, bus, or weather-related concerns to your supervisor promptly

  • Practice safe driving habits and follow all traffic laws, facility policies, safety procedures, and resident rights procedures

  • Perform support duties within the Activities Department during guaranteed hours and between appointments, as needed, which may include assisting with activity setup, cleanup, resident engagement, transporting supplies, or other assigned tasks

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Hospitality Aide Responsibilities

During periods when transportation services are not required, the employee will serve as a Hospitality Aide and may:

  • Escort residents to meals, activities, appointments, and common areas within the facility

  • Deliver mail, supplies, beverages, snacks, and other items to residents

  • Assist residents with wayfinding and general non-personal care needs

  • Prepare and replenish hospitality stations, activity areas, and common spaces

  • Assist with room setup and light organizational tasks

  • Provide companionship and social engagement to residents

  • Assist staff with resident-centered services that do not involve personal care or hands-on clinical duties

  • Support housekeeping, dining, and activities departments with non-clinical tasks as assigned

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid New York State driver’s license required

  • Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices

  • Previous experience working with seniors, hospitality services, healthcare, or customer service is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

  • Commitment to safe driving practices and excellent service
