Key Account Executive

How You Will Contribute Market / Operational Execution

  • Plan, activate, communicate, and execute New York Wines & Spirits business priorities across assigned key accounts.

  • Execute all business objectives and performance goals in support of annual sales and distribution targets.

  • Coordinate monthly headquarters meetings and business reviews with assigned key retail customers.

  • Develop retailer assessments, business plans, and customer-facing sales presentations.

  • Present new item opportunities and portfolio expansion recommendations to key retail partners.

  • Effectively communicate pricing initiatives and portfolio priorities to customers.

  • Manage and communicate promotional strategies and programming recommendations for key brands and packages.

  • Develop and manage volume-driving promotional calendars and ad rotations.

  • Coordinate quarterly business reviews and scorecards with retail buyers.

  • Coordinate supplier meetings and presentations with key customers as needed.

  • Maintain account documentation, customer records, and vendor files.

  • Communicate programs, initiatives, and customer-facing updates through established company communication channels.

Customer & Account Support

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, beverage directors, district managers, and other key decision-makers.

  • Identify and develop strategic growth initiatives in partnership with supplier partners and customers.

  • Present consumer insights, syndicated data, category trends, and market opportunities to retail customers.

  • Partner with customers to improve assortment, distribution, merchandising, and promotional performance.

  • Support strategic account planning and long-term customer development efforts.

Team & Operational Support

  • Work regularly in the market identifying opportunities, supporting program execution, and assisting with merchandising initiatives.

  • Coordinate market visits with Sales teams and supplier partners.

  • Partner with Reset Specialists and field execution teams to communicate assortment changes, planogram updates, and reset schedules.

  • Analyze account performance, display tracking, and sales trends using available reporting and syndicated data.

  • Maintain merchandising standards, shelf integrity, display execution, and promotional compliance.

  • Audit retail execution and communicate opportunities and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with leadership, suppliers, and field sales teams to ensure alignment and execution of business objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.

  • 5+ years of beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods, chain sales, account management, or related commercial experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Wine & Spirits portfolios, key account management, and retail execution principles.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience utilizing syndicated data, category insights, space planning tools, and customer performance reporting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with buyers, beverage directors, district managers, and retail decision-makers.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with suppliers, sales teams, and leadership.

  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as business needs require.

Physical & Schedule Expectations

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned market.

  • Flexibility to attend customer meetings, supplier meetings, industry events, and business reviews.

  • Ability to transport presentation materials, point-of-sale items, and product samples as needed.

  • Ability to work extended hours when required to support customer and business needs.
