KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Fulfills the basic duties and responsibilities of DIRECT CARE STAFF. 2. Schedule medical appointments, and maintain open communications with doctors’ offices as needed. Assure that medical appointments are attended, and that subsequent treatment plans are communicated to home staff. 3. Medication responsibilities: * * Order meds on a timely basis; keep records of purchases, and inventories of home medical supplies and those sent to workshop. * Establish medication sheets on a monthly basis, and keep them updated so that current and accurate med sheets are available for use by home staff. * Monitor the dispensation of medications by home staff, by checking the medication sheets on a daily basis. Report any errors to proper supervisor and take necessary steps to correct errors and assure proper medical care to the home residents. 4. Review home health care chronological forms and follow up on concerns noted by home staff. 5. Work with the assigned home nurse, and see that monthly nursing recommendations are addressed. 6. Discuss medical concerns and planned treatments with home staff at staff meetings.
