As a DSP, you will support and encourage individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Encouraging Social Interaction - Plan and participate in social and recreational activities that promote engagement and interaction, ensuring clients have fun and feel included.

• Empower Independence: Work collaboratively with clients to set and achieve personal goals, offering guidance and encouragement along the way

• Build Relationships: Develop trusting relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, preferences, and personalities.

• Provide Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community events, and social gatherings, ensuring they have opportunities to explore and engage with their community.

• Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of client progress, incidents, and services provided, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

• Support Daily Living Skills: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.

  • Money Management

  • Note: This Client has a small, friendly service dog. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a DSP, DCW, CNA, and Home Health Aide

  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Ability to connect with individuals of varying abilities and backgrounds.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
