The role

As an ADAS Calibration Technician at Kinetic Automation, you will perform precise calibrations of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), supporting vehicle safety, maintenance, and performance requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of ADAS technologies and the technical skills to perform and troubleshoot calibration tasks independently. Supporting internal operations and junior technicians, you’ll contribute to the continuous improvement and quality of Kinetic’s technical and calibration services.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration and validation : diagnose, troubleshoot, calibrate, and validate ADAS components, including LIDAR, RADAR, camera, and ultrasonic sensors, as well as other ADAS functionality, consistent OEM specifications
  • Customer service and operations support : clearly and professionally communicate with customers, adhering to dispatch schedules to ensure timely task completion
  • Compliance : consult vehicle maintenance manuals and follow OEM-specified service procedures to return ADAS performance to baseline and adhere to industry best practices
  • Diagnostics: conduct ADAS-related maintenance services, including module and system setup, electrical troubleshooting, and in-depth diagnostics
  • Vehicle handling : pick up and drop off vehicles that require calibration
  • Documentation : record calibration and diagnostic processes, creating detailed, comprehensive reports that support traceability, quality assurance, and informed decision making
  • Technical collaboration : provide feedback to engineering and product development teams to streamline ADAS calibration processes; improve the performance of Kinetic’s application software, AI models, and robotic systems; and support new feature design
  • Mentorship : guide and mentor junior technicians to support their skill development and career growth
  • Safety protocol : adhere to all safety guidelines and meet all prescribed operational standards
  • Facility upkeep: Assist with day-to-day tasks including equipment upkeep, inventory management, moving or rearranging equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace

Required qualifications

  • Technical proficiency : demonstrated skill with ADAS calibration tools, OEM and aftermarket diagnostic equipment, and electrical diagnostics/repair techniques
  • Experience : at least two years of automotive repair experience, with hands-on knowledge in ADAS calibrations
  • Licensing : valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check
  • Physical : ability to lift objects weighing approximately 50 pounds, use basic hand tools, work outdoors, and operate manual-transmission vehicles
  • Certifications : one or more of the following: ASE A6 or B5; I-CAR ADAS Technician; MECP; or other industry-recognized training
  • Assessment : passing grade on the Kinetic Technician assessment test
  • Education : high school diploma or equivalent

Schedule

  • Weekdays: 8 am to 6 pm
  • Weekends: as needed
