Salary Range: $52,341 -$61,805, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing high-quality instruction to secondary students in a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, a high level of engagement and eagerness to continue to learn and grow; working collaboratively with other teachers and community members to ensure continued learning of relevant skills and authentic application of those skills; supporting students as they develop a strong work ethic, pride in their work and the foundational skills employers have identified; willingness to develop/grow/promote the program to include all learners; and differentiating instruction to ensure all students experience success. Must hold a commitment to promoting equity, practicing cultural responsiveness, and creating inclusive environments.
Job Qualifications
Candidates must have current NYS certification in Special Education K-6 or K-12. Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments; knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction; ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team; and excellent written and oral communication skills.
