Osage, IA, USA | EMS | Hourly | 18.14 per hour , increases with experience. | PRN, as needed

Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job:

The Prn EMT role may respond to emergency and non-emergency requests, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) as needed, and transporting sick or injured persons to the appropriate medical facility. Primary duties are staffing a second crew and going on inter-facility transfers. The EMT may work with a Paramedic or other EMS personnel. The EMT complies with appropriate state of Iowa Department of Public Health Standards and regulations. The EMT adheres to MCEMS/MCRHC values and operates as an extension of the organization.

Hours: All Hours

Shift: All Shifts

Pay: $18.14, increases with experience.

Position Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Current state EMT certification as required by the state of this posting.

  • Current BLS certification card

  • Preference for NREMT certification

  • Experience:

  • Previous healthcare or Ambulance experience preferred.

  • Special Skills & Aptitude:

  • If over 21 years of age; current state Driver's License in good standing and insurable

  • If over 21 years of age; satisfactory driving record in accordance with the MCEMS Driving Policy.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.

  • Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence.

  • Ensure that all required Certifications are current and remain current.

  • Attend all MCEMS required OSHA training, annual training, and all mandatory Company updates.

  • Complete the training in the allotted time the Company sets.

  • Maintain knowledge about job and medical field.
