Shift Supervisor

Description

To insure customer requirements are met by effective manpower planning, training the team toward continuous improvement of product quality and production efficiency. To be responsible for safety, quality, production, cleanliness, team spirit and profession development of each associate in their area (presses and material handling, etc.)

Provide leadership to employees by encouraging positive engagement.

Facilitates meetings related to quality, housekeeping, safety, productivity and continuous improvement.

Manage the performance of employees with appropriate recognition, feedback, and/or discipline if necessary.

Maintain employee rosters, include if any employees are on vacation, FMLA, or sick leave.

Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Insure all safety, production, housekeeping, quality and delivery targets are met

Ensure all incidents whether accident, quality or otherwise are documented immediately and reported to appropriate management.

Communicate with opposite shift supervisor to tell them pertinent information and/or schedule change.

Assist in corrective actions related to customer complaints. Identify, record, report.

Ensure efficient upkeep and utilization of equipment by communicating with upper management and maintenance.

Recommend and implement process improvements.

Any and all other responsibilities brought to your attention by upper management.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Previous supervisory experience (3-5 years) in a manufacturing environment.

Basic understanding of OSHA, labor and federal regulations

Previous experience in a union environment with solid leadership skills

Able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

ISO & IATF 16949 knowledge and understanding is a plus

All candidates must be able to work all shifts, Saturday, Sunday and Overtime when needed
