Job Skills / Requirements
As a maintenance leader the maintenance manager:
-
Be a safety champion, ensuring team is working safely and efficiently.
-
Ensures technicians have the training, materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work orders in a timely manner.
-
Monitoring the condition of property, facilities and equipment and identifying maintenance needs
-
Developing and implementing schedules and strategies for regular, preventive and corrective maintenance
-
Optimizing the efficiency and reliability of production processes, methods, labor, energy and equipment
-
Assuring a safe and orderly work environment and compliance with corporate and governmental rules and regulations
-
Overseeing work order production and completion according to standards
-
Determining staffing levels and enforcing policies, work rules and other standards
-
Supervising, training and evaluating maintenance staff and contractors
-
Coach, train, interview, hire, and follow disciplinary procedures
Other Accountabilities:
-
Observe and report any unusual or emergency situations to the Manager or Director of Facilities Operations
-
Make recommendations to immediate supervisor about how methods and procedures may be improved.
-
Work with other trades within the Facilities Maintenance Department as needed to complete repairs or projects.
-
Rotate as necessary to cover various shifts as schedule requires by the Facilities Maintenance Department.
Department Specific Competencies:
-
Familiarize self with Department policies and procedures.
-
Become familiar with property, buildings and systems.
-
Work safely, be knowledgeable with all Department Safety Policies and attentive to all safety talks, special instructions and posted safety signs throughout the work area.

Perform inspections of completed work and work to be done.
Requirements:
-
Experience managing or supervising maintenance or related field for at least 3 years
-
Knowledge of and use of CMMS or related system
-
Proficient in Microsoft programs
-
Excellent communication and people skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization

Knowledge of or background in trades, maintenance, construction, etc.
