Our Quick Coupling Division is looking for an Automation Tech to help keep the world moving. Our Automation Technician supports the design, build, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing production support of automated manufacturing systems. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving equipment performance through strong technical capability in PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, robotics, electrical controls, pneumatics, mechanical assembly, and system documentation. The position requires hands-on problem solving, collaboration with engineering and production teams, and the ability to travel as needed to support equipment installation, startup, and service activities.

Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Data Processing.

Program, troubleshoot, and support automated equipment using PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.

Support setup, operation, programming, and troubleshooting of robotic systems and automated work cells.

Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical controls, sensors, actuators, drives, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies, and production equipment.

Interpret and work from electrical prints, schematics, panel layouts, mechanical drawings, and control documentation.

Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and production readiness activities.

Provide technical support to production operations to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Assist with mechanical assembly, wiring, panel work, pneumatic plumbing, and machine integration as required.

Train and support maintenance technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting methods, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.

Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, troubleshooting guides, equipment records, and control system notes.

Work effectively with engineering, maintenance, operations, quality, and external suppliers to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.

Travel as required to support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer or supplier activities.

Ideal candidate will have 1-5 years’ experience in PLCs and / or Robotics programming (Associate’s degree or greater from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in engineering; Automation, Electro-Mechanical, or similar related degree is preferred).

Electrical background is necessary

PLC/SCADA/HMI programming

Troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning

Knowledge in pneumatics and mechanical assembly a plus

Assemble, test, install and troubleshoot automation equipment

Knowledge and experience with electrical equipment: 480/230 3ph, 110 & 24vdc controls, prints and schematics

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

May use computer-assisted design software to create CAD drawings of project wiring diagrams, panel layouts are a plus, but not required

Ability to work in a diverse work environment

Ability to travel as necessary to assist with equipment installation, startup, and service
