Summary

This position will be responsible for directing, overseeing and coordinating the activities of multiple project teams in the Construction Management and General Contracting marketplace. They will have extensive experience and demonstrate a distinct understanding of their market sector or local market. They play a pivotal role in high-level mentorship, guiding both construction projects and internal company initiatives. Actively leading business development opportunities, prioritize relationship-building efforts, and significantly contribute to shaping company or market sector strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Oversight & Execution

  • Manage large projects with multiple team members from preconstruction through completion.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and schedules with project teams to maintain contract and project milestones.

  • Monitor project progress through regular meetings with CE or non-metro DOO to ensure adherence to schedule and budget.

  • Review project activities, costs, operations, and forecasts to track progress toward goals and objectives.

  • Prepare project reports for CE, non-metro DOO, clients, and other stakeholders; review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as needed.

  • Ensure all project work is completed in compliance with KA processes and procedures.

Leadership, Mentorship & Team Development

  • Assign duties and responsibilities to project staff, clearly outlining roles, scope of authority, and accountability.

  • Partner with DOO/CE to set performance goals, evaluate team members’ performance, and provide guidance, constructive feedback, and coaching.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and senior project managers to support their professional development.

  • Lead the development and implementation of KA and market sector–specific training standards for project managers and senior project managers.

  • Support CE or non-metro DOO with project staffing, work assignments, project audits, project health check-ins, and oversight of project managers.

Client & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client needs, expectations, and concerns are understood and addressed.

  • Assist in strategic planning and take a leadership role in business development initiatives and client relations.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to promote KA capabilities, provide leads, and recommend individuals or organizations for KA services.

  • Establish and maintain a growing network of business associates, subcontractors, and related vendors.

  • Maintain memberships and affiliations in civic and professional organizations to support personal growth and relationship development.

Preconstruction & Proposal Support

  • Assist in proposal writing and review project proposals, drawings, and plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and allocation of resources.

  • Coordinate preconstruction services for projects to ensure proper planning and resource allocation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university or equivalent

  • Minimum of 15years related work experience

  • Proven experience in project management or executive roles, particularly in overseeing multiple water/wastewater projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) and knowledge of project management software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.

  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.

  • Provides guidance and ongoing feedback to team members, manages their performance and is available to team members when they would like to go through an Individual Development Plan.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related degree

  • Knowledge of ViewPoint software

Other:

  • Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy.

  • Travel 25-75%; depending on job

Salary Range: $180,000 to $205,000 annually, plus auto allowance and discretionary incentive program.

While the range listed represents the anticipated hiring range for this position, offers at the upper end of the range are uncommon. Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
