Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
Blue Mountain residence is located on Route 212 in Saugerties, with a beautiful view of the Catskill mountains. The residence is home to six gentleman of varying ages and many different hobbies and interests. Patience, compassion, and a great sense of humor are characteristics we look for in staff as DSPs play a key role in supporting the men in achieving the highest quality of independence within their community.
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 40/Tuesday through Thursday 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm/Friday 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm/Saturday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 18.26 to $ 20.09 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
