POSITION SUMMARY
The Integration Engineer connects a Salesforce Center of Innovation to the systems around it. You will design, configure, and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce and external systems, administer the API and authentication layer those connections depend on, and maintain visibility into how the whole surface behaves in production.
The role spans build and operations. You will stand up new third-party integrations, and you will also be the person who works out why an existing one stopped returning data. It suits an engineer who is fluent in authentication and API design and genuinely enjoys diagnosing failures across system boundaries.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Integration Design and Build
-
Design, configure, and maintain Salesforce integrations, APIs, connected applications, and middleware interactions.
-
Build and support third-party integrations, including authentication, data exchange patterns, and error handling.
-
Analyze data flows, authentication, error conditions, performance, and integration dependencies across Salesforce and external systems.
API and Access Administration
-
Administer API connections, connected applications, service accounts, permissions, and integration configurations across orgs.
-
Maintain authentication configurations, including OAuth flows and service account credentials.
-
Track certificates and complete renewals ahead of expiration.
Monitoring and Observability
-
Build and maintain monitoring and observability interfaces for Salesforce cloud services, including telemetry, logs, and health indicators.
-
Monitor integration health and diagnose failures across the integration surface.
-
Establish diagnostics that surface integration problems before users report them.
Environment and Team Support
-
Create, refresh, administer, and decommission Salesforce sandboxes against approved requests and platform standards.
-
Support onboarding and offboarding of application teams.
-
Enable teams to use enterprise platform services effectively.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
-
7 years of relevant experience in enterprise IT, Salesforce, integration engineering, or closely related technical services.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Salesforce Certified Integration Architect.
-
Salesforce Certified Identity and Access Management Architect.
-
Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP API design, OAuth 2.0, SAML, and mutual TLS.
-
MuleSoft or a comparable enterprise integration platform.
-
Application performance monitoring and observability tooling such as Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, or AppDynamics.
-
Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud or other FedRAMP environments.
-
Prior federal or public sector experience.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The team operates against a sandbox management standard requiring approved creation, refresh, and decommissioning requests to be completed within two business days.
WORK LOCATION
