Full job description

York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.

The Adjunct Dental Hygiene Instructor performs the following functions:

Provide students with course syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and other relevant information in a timely manner; relate instructional materials, discussions, and examples and illustrations; pace the instructor over the academic term; provide students with timely assessments; return assessment results in timely manner; relate assessments to course objectives; follow acceptable department and college grading policies; utilize appropriate instructional technology; maintain a positive environment for optimum student performance. Submit reports in timely manner; practice effective class management; prioritize duties and use time wisely; adhere to class schedules and meeting times; provide effective classroom/lab supervision; maintain accurate records; handle students’ work and records in professional manner; perform other duties as required.

Possess a Baccalaureate degree or higher degree. Associate degree from an ADA Accredited DHG program. A minimum of two years recent dental clinical experience. Current South Carolina dental hygiene license and RDH. Must meet minimum CODA guidelines for a Dental Instructor (DHG). Background in educational methodology and practice; current concepts relative to the specific subjects to be taught strongly preferred. Recent teaching experience highly desired. Applicants indicating degree(s) on the application are required to provide unofficial copies of transcripts in the application process and official transcript upon hire.
