Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the treatment team. They provide health care services for individuals in their care, ensuring that all overall health and safety needs are met.

This position is based at Outreach Recovery Center (Integrated Opioid Treatment Program & Outpatient Services) located at 998 Crooked Hill Road, Brentwood, NY

Essential Duties:

• Administer medication, including intermuscular injection, as ordered by MD.

• Conduct substance use assessments to determine appropriateness for participation in treatment, need for physical exam or other medical services.

• Follow up on any health-related referrals made.

• Maintain a tracking system to monitor patient health issues, medical appointments, and prescribed medications (internal/external).

• Provide patient education and counseling around health related issues.

• Provide staff education around health related issues.

• Provide crisis intervention on an emergency basis when indicated.

• Complete all needed documentation and reports in a timely manner. Informs program leadership of any problems or anticipated inability to meet deadlines.

• Actively participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other unit meetings.

• Maintain communication and teamwork with clinical staff to integrate and enhance clinical services.

• Conduct toxicology testing as needed.

• Exercise due diligence in the delivery of quality care in line with agency Medicaid Compliance Plan and systems of accountability.

• Insure communication through the compliance officer and/or the supervisory structure of any violation of non-compliance with the agency’s Medicaid compliance plan and personnel policy and procedure.

• Serve as a designee for the Medical Director to sign and authorize urine and oral fluid testing on laboratory test request forms.

• Identify the current health needs of the patient population and implement activities to address service and informational deficits.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a NYS Registered Nurse (RN).

• Previous experience working in a n Opioid Treatment Program/Substance use treatment program preferred.

• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

• Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus.

Monday - Friday: 6:30am - 2:30pm

Rotating Saturdays: 6:30am - 2:30pm
