Full job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for accurately tracking incoming and outgoing products. Pick / Pack inventory raw materials for subsequent manufacturing. Responsible for shipping and receiving goods.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for loading and unloading deliveries.

  • Responsible for stocking shelves and overstock areas to maintain inventory levels set by management.

  • Pick / Pack lenses, frames, and other raw materials for delivery to automated manufacturing line. Matches the correct product with the patient order.

  • Identify and dispose of obsolete inventory as directed.

  • Notifies Logistics Manager of shortages and inconsistencies.

  • Organizes stock and stores goods in their designated location.

  • Ensures all outgoing shipments receive proper labeling and packaged to arrive safely and timely, following all work instructions.

  • Process orders as needed for outsourcing, incoming and outgoing.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • Requires the ability to use a computer and other office technology.

  • Good communication skills required.

  • Requires the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.

  • Can be trained to perform the job responsibilities.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy

Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires the ability to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 25 pounds.
