OurCNA Training Track (Support Aide)gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside our clinical team while preparing to become aCertified Nursing Assistant.

Your Path to Becoming a CNA
Our three-week Nurse Aide Training Program is designed to give you the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Before Training
You'll work as aSupport Aide/Traineeon an assigned shift, gaining experience and becoming familiar with our residents and care environment while you wait for the next available training class.
Weeks 1 & 2 – Classroom Training
Learn the fundamentals of resident care through classroom instruction.
Week 3 – Clinical Training
Put what you've learned into practice through hands-on clinical training.
After Successful Completion
Once you successfully complete the training program and certification requirements:
Support Aide → Certified Nursing Assistant
Your employment status and pay will be adjusted accordingly.
And Elderwood Covers the Cost.
Elderwood will pay for yourCNA certification examinationand applicable onboarding requirements for eligible candidates, including required PPD testing and physical examination.
Training is paid. You'll be clocked in, earning your regular pay while you train.
Training Schedule:Monday–Friday, generally 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. for three weeks
Training times may vary slightly based on program and facility needs.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Support Aide
While working toward your CNA certification, you'll provide important support to residents and the clinical team under appropriate supervision.

Transport residents or accompany ambulatory residents throughout the facility, including to dining, activity, therapy, and treatment areas
-
Make unoccupied resident beds as assigned
-
Assist with dining services, including passing trays, cutting food, and opening containers
-
Distribute supplemental nourishment to residents who do not require feeding assistance
-
Provide fresh water to resident rooms as directed
-
Prepare resident beds and bed linens for evening and overnight hours
-
Help keep assigned nursing units clean, neat, and orderly
-
Clean resident equipment such as wheelchairs, geri chairs, and beds as assigned
-
Help maintain orderly resident rooms
-
Conduct informal activities on the nursing unit when appropriate and as directed
-
Observe residents and report unusual incidents or concerns to the appropriate clinical staff
-
Treat residents with dignity, kindness, and respect
-
Follow all applicable safety, confidentiality, infection control, and compliance policies

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum 16 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent required

Employment Certificate/Permit required for individuals ages 16–17

No findings or convictions related to resident abuse, mistreatment, or misappropriation of property through any current or previous licensing agency

Ability to successfully complete the Nurse Aide Training Program and required certification process
-
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
