Respiratory Care Practitioner ** - Vacaville, CA**

Shift Details

  • Full Time Schedules

  • Some weekends may be required

  • 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility

  • Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

  • Mon/Tues/Thurs/Friday 8am-6:30pm

Respiratory Therapist (RT) Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.

  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments.

  • Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.

  • Perform diagnostic testing, including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas sampling.

  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response or code teams.

  • Educate patients and families on respiratory care, medications, and equipment use.

  • Monitor patient response to therapy and report changes to the healthcare team.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

**Minimum Qualifications **

  • Current, valid, and unrestrictedCA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

  • Minimum of 1 yearof recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

  • CDCR and EHRS experience; Basic computer skills, fully vaccinated preferred.

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
