Senior Structural Engineer

Utah - Hybrid

A growing engineering consulting firm specializing in industrial and infrastructure projects is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Salt Lake City team. The company supports clients across heavy industrial sectors including mining, metals, manufacturing, bulk material handling, and related industrial facilities throughout North America. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale projects within a collaborative and technically driven environment.

The Senior Structural Engineer will provide technical leadership and oversight on a variety of structural engineering projects, supporting both existing facilities and new capital projects. This individual will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in project execution, client coordination, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee structural engineering projects from concept through execution

  • Perform structural analysis and design for industrial and heavy commercial facilities

  • Prepare and review engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and client representatives

  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support during construction activities

  • Conduct site visits and structural assessments, including recommendations for repairs or remediation

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers

  • Contribute technical expertise during client discussions and business development efforts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the United States required; Utah or Arizona licensure preferred

  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience within industrial or heavy infrastructure environments

  • Experience supporting mining, metals, or other heavy industrial projects is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, codes, and design standards

  • Ability to independently manage technical project responsibilities

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
