Licensed Psychiatric Technician - San Luis Obispo, CA

Shift: Wed-Sun 6am-2:30pm (30)

Start Date: 5/17/2026

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Licensed Psychiatric Technician Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions

  • Monitor patient behavior, mood, and vital signs

  • Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility)

  • Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice

  • Support patients during therapy and treatment activities

  • Report changes in patient condition to nurses or physicians

  • Maintain patient safety and prevent self-harm or injury

  • Document patient care and observations

  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation

  • Follow treatment plans and facility protocols

**Minimum Qualifications **

  • Current, valid, and unrestrictedCA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

  • Minimum of 1 yearof recent experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.

  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
