Principal Responsibilities:

SAFETY

Ensure that all Messer Safety Management Processes are applied to all work consistent with a goal of Zero accidents

Ensure all US and Messer codes and standards are met, seek opportunities to improve and document standards, processes, and procedures

Conduct HAZOPS, Process Safety reviews, EMOCs, LOPA, and other methods to ensure proper process and equipment safety is followed.

Ensure project compliance with all required Messer and Industry codes, standards, drawings and practices (i.e. OSHA, NFPA, CGA, ASME, NEC, etc.)

LEADERSHIP

Build and maintain a strategy for continuous improvement of the Food Equipment Product Line

Seek opportunities and implement standardization of equipment, engineering procedures, safety systems, drawing and BOM methodology

Liaise with Applications Development team to transition new products to commercial offering

Become resident food equipment expert and go to resource to support Sales Engineers, Design resources and Fabrication and Field Project Managers to establish project goals, scope, budget, and timelines.

Partner with Controls Engineering resources to ensure safe and reliable machine operation with consistent components and operator interface look and feel

Make component selection decisions with an eye toward, safety, reliability, functionality, and cost

Work with Designers and Fabricators to solve manufacturability concerns

Manage custom project requests and work with internal and external teams to ensure project goals are met - within budget, on time, and 100% functional

Provide customer support activities to include equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, process/equipment improvements and new applications.

Provide start up and commissioning support as needed

Drive updates and improvements to Equipment Operating Manuals

Required skills:

Project Management

Understanding of industrial equipment and controls, including mechanical assemblies, gearboxes, bearings, seals.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and equipment

Ability to read and understand P&IDs, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, layout drawings and similar

Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)

Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders in person and virtually

Computer skills in MS office suite, MS Project

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical preferred)

5 years of experience in industrial equipment project management

5 years of experience with new product development

Ability to travel 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management Certification a plus

Experience with Industrial Gases, Food & Beverage, Chemical or petrochemical projects a plus

The salary range for this position is $98,500-$144,500. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer's 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program
