Position Summary/Description:

Application review will begin September 15 and continue until positions are filled.

One or two full-time tenure-track faculty positions in the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (open rank) in the Department of Epidemiology.

Competitive candidates will demonstrate strong capacity for research that impacts public health, advances the field of epidemiology, and contributes to the department’s teaching mission. As members of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, faculty are expected to develop independently funded research portfolios, contribute impactful scholarly products, mentor master’s and doctoral students, and teach core epidemiology methods and/or substantive area courses in epidemiology.

The department’s primary focus is the development and application of research methods to understand the patterns and causes of health and disease, and the application of that knowledge to improving the health of populations. The department provides strong training in research methods and opportunities to apply epidemiology to a wide range of health problems.
