Salary Range: $25.00 To $28.00 Hourly

Position: Substance Abuse Counselor

The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct services in a substance abuse treatment setting as well as representing Outreach to outside agencies in a professional manner in order to increase referrals. This role is dually responsible for recruitment and engagement of women in need of treatment, maintaining communication with outside referral sources and direct services, and assessed for treatment in the community.

Essential Duties:

  • Conducts assessments, intakes and participates in level of care determinations by gathering appropriate data, orienting client to his/her rights and responsibilities and program expectations.

  • Completes necessary administrative procedures for admission to treatment and, as appropriate, assists in development of treatment plan.

  • Facilitates admission/referral to other programs or agencies for clients in need of services not offered at Unit.

  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services in a professional, ethical and competent manner.

  • Manages all aspects of assigned caseload during treatment, with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.

  • Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences.

  • Complete all needed documentation and reports in a timely manner. Informs Program leadership (Director, Asst. Director, and/or Coordinator) of any problems or anticipated inability to meet deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CASAC, CASAC-T, CRC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW or higher preferred.

  • Experience working in 822 clinics, as well as community outreach preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.

  • Flexibility in scheduling, if needed.

Position Status

This is a part-time position.

Tuesday: 3pm - 9pm

Wednesday: 1pm - 9pm

Friday: 3pm - 9pm

19 hours per week.
