Full job description

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift

Description: Provides technical support in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to clients of MercyOne Central Iowa Medical Center. Technical support includes the preparation and delivery of medications and sterile products, stocking and ordering of drugs and other products. Technical work is performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Shift - Mixed/Varied, closed Sundays and holidays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Function as a meds to beds pharmacy technician to deliver filled prescriptions directly to patients' bedside prior to discharge.

  • Facilitate the transition from hospital to home by managing the prescription process, including collecting history, processing insurance, coordinating with healthcare teams, and reducing the need for post-discharge pharmacy stops.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED when nationally certified through NHA.

  • PTCB nationally certified technicians do NOT require HS diploma or GED.

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire and proof of.

  • Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
