Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Electrician Technician is to be a great Nucor team member who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. Additionally, the selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to diagnose, repair, or replace components within complex electrical control systems. This includes having the necessary skills to navigate PLC programs, drive configurations, and industrial communication networks throughout the troubleshooting process. The successful candidate must be willing to work holidays and rotating shifts which include nights and weekends. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Fundamental understanding of electrical theory

  • Experience troubleshooting low voltage (<600VAC) motors and controllers

  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, process control devices, and VFDs

  • 3+ years industrial electrical maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field

  • Experience maintaining overhead cranes

  • Exposure to electrical substation equipment and maintenance practices
