Description
Direct Support Professionals in our residential locations provide support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
Our Fordham Road residence is located in the quiet town of Valatie, approximately 30 minutes outside of Catskill; 20 minutes from Hudson.
Fordham Road is the home to five very active people whose desire is to live more independent lives. They love to get out of the house and go shopping in and around their local community. Do you like to bake or do you enjoy gardening? As an employee at Fordham, you may find yourself engaged in the fun and participating in one of these favorite hobbies! We are seeking employees who are patient and compassionate, and also bring enthusiasm to their job!
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 35/Saturday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm/Wednesday and Thursday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm/Friday 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 18.26 to $ 20.09 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
