Full job description

Job Duties

Bemidji School District is seeking a McKinney Vento Assistant for the McKinney Vento Program for 2026-2027 school year. This is a temporary position that will start August 24, 2026 and end approximately May 28, 2027. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The position will be paid at the rate of 21.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the McKinney Vento Liaison in McKinney Vento Duties

  • Connecting with support staff to ensure a consistent chain of support

  • Assists the Liaison with the training and education of staff

  • Assists the Liaison with individual and group skills lessons

  • Effectively communicate with families

  • Maintains inventory of supplies and materials

  • Deliver items to students and their families in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Applicants must possess a strong background in social work or in education

  • Ability to complete transportation certification

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to following privacy policy and confidentiality

  • Preference will be given to those pursuing a Social Worker licensure

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record working with K-12th grade students.
