Job Duties
SUMMARY
Supervise approximately twenty people in the daily routine of producing quality board in a safe, productive manner with minimum waste. Maintain delivery commitments. Enforce company rules and regulations. Crosstrain employees in key positions.
DIRECT HIRE
3rd shift - 12 midnight - 8:00am
Monday through Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that employees are 100% compliant in safety campaign requirements.
Lead by walking around. 90% shop floor presence is expected. Time spent in the control room should be less than 10% of the shift.
Oversee production and take corrective action to ensure that customer delivery commitments are kept on time.
Performance management – get the right people in the right job and hold them accountable.
Move on your non-performers.
Maintain inventories of roll stock and corrugator supplies. Alert ordering clerk in a timely manner as to procure raw materials and supplies in the most cost-effective manner.
Conduct weekly documented crew meetings with departmental personnel to cover, at a minimum, safety, waste, quality and productivity.
Additional duties may be assigned by management.
LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES
Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.
Superior ability to direct the hourly workforce and achieve high results through others.
Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution.
Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Two to five years prior manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
