Job Description

Directs development, coordination, and implementation of pharmacy Shared Service programs, policies, and procedures designed to integrate organization Pharmacy operations. Directs operations to improve operational and financial performance including, but not limited to, resource utilization, performance improvement, use of technology, regulatory compliance, education and staff development, management of appropriate drug utilization, drug spend analysis, and quality improvement activities.

Specialty and retail pharmacy experience, and experience managing multiple locations, strongly preferred.

Job Responsibility

  • With Pharmacy leadership leads the Pharmacy specialty and retail pharmacy function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact the overall Northwell health system goals.

  • Operational lead for core specialty and non-specialty pharmacy business.

  • Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.

  • Provides leadership, guidance and assistance in planning and evaluating new business initiatives.

  • Collaborates with department administrators to organize and analyze information related to new business models and cost analysis to evaluate financial impact on new service initiatives.

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to facilitate decision making process for new business initiatives.

  • Develops and implements recommendations for strategic, system-wide initiatives across organization related to Pharmacy services.

  • Participates in strategic/tactical planning and analysis of organization-wide activities to improve operational efficiencies.

  • Participates in planning, organizing and coordinating financial policies and practices to control revenues, disburse funds and conserve assets.

  • Directs and implements appropriate drug procurement and distribution channels, such as own use, 340B, retail etc. for various client populations.

  • Interprets and standardizes all fiscal and regulatory reporting standards to ensure compliance with government and regulatory reporting and third-party agencies.

  • Reviews and directs planning, design, implementation and support of corporate wide information systems, networks and departmental applications to effectively support medication use systems and patient care services and programs.

Job Qualification

  • Master of Science in Pharmacy required.

  • Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

  • 10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $205200.00-$320000.00/year
