Corewell Health Southwestern Medical Clinic, Buchanan, is seeking a compassionate full-time physician to join our dedicated team of providers. This is an opportunity to join a group that encourages and supports practicing your faith and sharing your passion with your patients. New graduates are welcome to apply! This is an employed position and is benefit eligible.

This is a great opportunity for providers with student loans! Corewell Health Family Medicine, Buchanan, qualifies for the National Health Service Corps (https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/) Loan Repayment Program. Award recipients, selected through the program’s application process, may receive up to $100,000 for three years of full-time service!

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine. Compensation package includes a two-year salary guarantee with the opportunity to bonus based on productivity, plus a starting bonus!

Appointments of 15 or 30 minutes include; acutes, follow ups, physical exams, new patients, pediatric care, paps and pelvics, and typical primary care procedures; I & D, joint injections.

The team includes 2 physicians and 2 full-time APPs. Clinic hours are Monday 7am - 7pm, Tuesday – Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm; Friday, 7am - 3pm, which allows for a flexible weekly schedule. Call is 1:5, weekend only.

Corewell Health uses EPIC as our EMR. We are excited to offer Abridge, a generative AI platform for clinical conversations, which allows you to focus on your patients and improve efficiency. We also offer Inboxology services at all of our Primary Care Clinics. Inboxologists are PAs who assist with managing physician and APP inboxes, handing things like patient questions, e-visits, and basic medication refills. We strive to provide our physicians and APPs with a positive work - life balance.

Essential Functions

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.

  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.

  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.

  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.

  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.

  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.

  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.

  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

  • Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
