Job Description:

The Finish Work Technician is responsible for fixing multiple types of slab defects that don’t adhere to the Cambria standard guidelines. This position is also responsible for maintaining the work flow of the Finish Work Stations as well as assuring that completed finish work adheres to the quality standards laid out by the Quality Control Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to become certified in forklift, overhead crane, and slab handling operations

  • Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation

  • Basic computer skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fix QA Finish Department designated polished or matte finished slabs with the following defects: Pits and dry spots

  • Maintain the workflow of the Finish Work Station by selecting designated finish work slabs, pulling the slabs, doing a formal inspection at the Finish Work Station area on the tip tables and following through with the finish work

  • Assure completed finish work meets quality standards and then these slabs will be predesignated to their new grade

  • Complete a minimum of (7) weeks of QA Finish Department Training and be certified at the Inspection Station

  • Keep work area clean and orderly

  • Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Managerial Responsibilities: No

Travel Requirements: N/A

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Push/pull 100 lbs.

  • Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks

  • Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises

  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment

  • Occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions

  • Separate slabs using a separator tool in both racks and A-frames

  • Climb in and out of a forklift multiple times throughout shift

  • Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift

  • Bend over multiple times throughout shift

Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • Steel toed boots

  • Hearing Protection

  • Safety glasses

  • Cut-proof gloves

  • High visibility vest

Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $17.15 - $22.66. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This position may be eligible for a 15% shift differential which would be applied to the base hourly rate for all hours worked during designated overnight shift periods. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
