Full job description

Rye Country Day School is seeking substitute teachers. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, PreK-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. We are actively committed to creating and sustaining a school community that is nurturing, supportive, diverse, and inclusive, one in which all students can participate fully and achieve their maximum potential through academic, athletic, creative, and social endeavors. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work on an as-needed basis in the Lower School classrooms

  • Collaborate with RCDS administrators and teachers to deliver instruction, manage classrooms, and maintain student safety

  • Collect and safeguard classroom materials

  • Communicate with RCDS administrators and teachers such that they may share information with students and families during teacher absences

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree a plus

  • Experience with and enthusiasm for working with children in school or learning settings

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Comfort with technology, including a 1:1 laptop program and online course management systems
