Salary: $100,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Painter to join our team. The Auto Body Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition or better. This role requires knowledge of automotive paint systems, surface preparation techniques, color matching, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning.

  • Mix and match paint colors using computerized color-matching equipment and manufacturer formulas.

  • Apply basecoat, and clearcoat finishes using spray guns and related equipment.

  • Inspect vehicles for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed.

  • Maintain paint booth cleanliness and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.

  • Follow OSHA and shop safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials.

  • Work closely with body technicians and estimators to ensure quality repairs and timely completion.

  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.

  • Ensure finished work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous experience as an auto body painter or automotive refinishing technician preferred.

  • Knowledge of automotive paint systems, preparation methods, and refinishing techniques.

  • Ability to use spray guns, sanders, buffers, and other body shop equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and color accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • I-CAR or 3M certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to paint fumes, dust, and noise.

  • Ability to wear protective equipment, including respirators and safety gear.
