Job Description – Senior Software Architect (AI-Enabled SaaS Platform)

Location: Hybrid (Waltham, U.S.) | Employment Type: Full-Time

Join an established software organization that develops enterprise applications used to manage complex operational workflows and asset data. This position focuses on modern web technologies including PHP, Laravel, Angular, TypeScript, cloud-native services, containerized deployments, and AI-assisted software development practices.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of technical direction rather than simply maintain existing applications. The organization is seeking a hands-on architect who enjoys solving large-scale engineering challenges, mentoring experienced developers, and shaping engineering standards. You will have significant influence over architecture decisions, technology adoption, and the evolution of a growing SaaS environment while continuing to contribute code and design solutions directly.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Advanced expertise with legacy application development

  • Strong experience with Angular, TypeScript, or similar SPA frameworks

  • Experience designing scalable multi-tier software architectures

  • Strong relational database design and performance optimization skills

  • Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication frameworks, and SaaS best practices

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or similar container technologies

  • Ability to create architectural documentation and technical standards

  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Background supporting construction, facilities, field operations, or asset-management software

  • Experience integrating with third-party enterprise platforms

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps methodologies

  • Knowledge of enterprise identity management, RBAC, or SSO solutions

  • Experience with application monitoring, telemetry, and distributed tracing

  • History of leading modernization, migration, or platform consolidation initiatives
