Job Description:
Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and other tests or procedures, including maintaining equipment and records and performing quality assurance tests related to examination results. Provide prompt and accurate laboratory test results and prepare products for transfusion in support of patient care. Receive clinical specimens and perform laboratory analyses as part of the diagnosis and management of disease. Follow established testing, reporting, and operational policies and procedures routinely. Assess test run performance using standard quality control criteria in accepting or rejecting test results, and investigate and resolve testing discrepancies. Make appropriate and timely notification of any test results which exceed critical value limits and document per laboratory policy, and forward test results per client or physician request. Perform result reviews and document according to state and federal regulations. Maintain records, quality control, inventory, and documentation of processes within the department. Assist laboratory supervisors in inventory control. Perform and assist in the operation, maintenance, service-calls, and documentation of laboratory equipment. Document appropriate follow-through and communicate pending work to next shift. Record temperatures and other maintenance checks as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field. One year of clinical medical technology experience.
