Working Feed Mill Manager – Genoa, NY

Join our dynamic team as an Working Feed Mill Manager and lead the production of high-quality animal feed that supports healthy livestock and sustainable farming practices. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines management responsibilities with active participation in daily farm and feed mill operations.
This position is ideal for someone who leads by example — overseeing employees while working alongside them in the mill and on the farm. While you will supervise staff and coordinate operations, this role involves minimal office paperwork and is primarily focused on operational execution and team leadership in the field.
As a key leader, you will drive efficiency, maintain equipment, ensure safety compliance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Duties

Supervise and lead daily feed mill operations, including batching, mixing, and packaging of animal feed products

Directly oversee employees while actively working alongside them in production and farm-related tasks

Provide hands-on training, support, and accountability to team members

Coordinate maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and forklifts, ensuring optimal performance

Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to meet production schedules

Oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment

Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, tanker trucks, loaders, and other manufacturing equipment as needed

Implement quality control measures to guarantee consistency and nutritional value of feed products

Collaborate with farm and agriculture teams to understand operational needs and adjust production accordingly

Maintain clear communication with ownership regarding operations, staffing, and equipment needs

Complete required operational documentation; however, this role involves limited administrative paperwork and is primarily field-based
Experience
-
Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably within food processing or animal feed production

Prior supervisory or management experience, preferably in an agricultural or industrial setting

Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation, machinery maintenance, and troubleshooting

Familiarity with farming or agriculture practices is highly desirable

Experience operating forklifts, tanker trucks, loaders, or other heavy equipment in a commercial setting

Knowledge of safety standards related to food production facilities and heavy machinery operation

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct employees while working as part of the team

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or tanker endorsement is a plus
