Brief Job Duties:

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.

  • Participate in required workshops by request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.

  • Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions including suspension of students.

  • Assist in preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.

  • Alerts teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Certification/License:

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Education:

Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level

Experience:

Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.

Compensation:

Based on position, education level, experience, and per the collective bargaining agreement

Range: $21.70 - $32.67 per hour
