SHIPWRIGHT LEADER (EXPERT)

You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work site of Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. You will serve as an expert on installing, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting and repairing a variety of scaffolding, shoring systems and components. You will exercise leadership skills to mentor trade employees in a wide range of work activities such as use of blueprints, specifications, and sketches to manufacture cradles and complex systems scaffolding builds. You will perform research to continually improve trade processes and keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies and procedures associated with shipwright work. You will identify cumbersome work practices and deficiencies, improve trade processes, inspect work, and implement corrective actions.
