Full job description

Position Overview

As part of StepStone’s Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (SPAR) team, the Analyst will support high-quality portfolio reporting and data-related analytics for private markets clients. The Analyst will work closely with other client service members and all relevant departments to support client needs plus the Department and Firm at large.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and report on investment activity and performance across private market funds within client portfolios

  • Compile accurate and timely reports using performance reporting systems and analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel)

  • Reconcile financial data, including quarterly reports, capital account information, and cash flow activity

  • Collaborate with SPAR Client Teams to gather data and compile deliverables in line with global reporting standards

  • Assist in execution and oversight of the full lifecycle of periodic reporting processes, ensuring proper data practices and methodologies are applied

  • Serve as the primary reporting contact for assigned clients, proactively communicating progress, timelines, and any emerging issues

  • Coordinate the full reporting cycle, including process documentation to ensure consistency and continuity

  • Support ad hoc client requests and contribute to client-specific project work

  • Maintain business continuity by documenting unique client processes and contributing to team-wide knowledge management

Secondary Responsibilities may include:

  • Contribute to portfolio analyses across strategies, sectors, and geographies

  • Assist in refining and enhancing content for client reports and presentations

  • Participate in discussions on improving operations, data workflows, and client service delivery

  • Support internal initiatives and broader departmental projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or business preferred, or a related field

  • Experience in financial services, preferably in private markets, asset management, or investment reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity

  • Effective communicator, with strong written and verbal skills

Salary Range - $68,000 - $70,000

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
